Social Studies

Mrs. Kanich’s Social Studies classroom provides an enthusiastic environment striving to bring history to life for the students. In addition to historical facts and data, Mrs. Kanich encourages students to analyze history through their own individual perspectives and not only form an opinion but strengthen their ability to articulate and present it to their peers. Aside from history, the courses provided allow students to familiarize themselves with current social and political issues with the aim of creating independent, self-motivated citizens.

The Social Studies department features students in grades 7-12, and disciplines such as World Geography, American Cultures, Civics, American Studies, Teen & Law, and Sociology. It is our hope that through examination of the past and present, our students will be better suited to prosper in the future.
